Most people believe that if a cop or a fire fighter gets hurt on the job, the injured person would be taken care of. Most people would believe that an employer, knowing that they are lucky to find people who are willing to do a job that is legally considered to be “inherently dangerous,” would do their best to make their injured people as close to “whole” as possible. Unfortunately, we will be talking about the City of Tucson, so the aforementioned common sense does not apply.
If you happen to know a Tucson Police Officer or a Tucson Fire Fighter, ask them if they, or someone they work with, has ever suffered a serious injury at work but were not covered by the City of Tucson. We think you’ll be surprised.
The Anatomy of an Injury That Wil Not be Covered by the City of Tucson
*Please note, we’re going to go over injuries from first responders because that is where our firsthand personal experience lies.
The injury occurs and is reported to a supervisor. This information is sent to the risk management company THAT WORKS FOR THE CITY OF TUCSON. They kick out a letter that reads something like “we’ve been made aware of your injury and hope you make a quick recovery.” By the time the injured person receives this letter, know that they have scoured every part of the injury in hopes of finding a way to weasel their way out of covering your injury. The risk management company, which could be Pinnacle, Corvel, or maybe its Tristar Risk Management, will have contacted a defense attorney by this time. Wait! What????
You read that correctly. The risk management company hires a defense attorney to “protect” the City of Tucson from their OWN EMPLOYEE WHO WAS INJURED WORKING FOR THE CITY OF TUCSON! Let that sink in for a minute.
We are just getting started on this one and we have a lot to tell you. We have a bunch of public record requests that will show just how much the City of Tucson spends on their risk managers to protect themselves from YOU. We will also shine a light on the garbage organization called the Arizona Industrial Commission. We will show you just how committed they are to keeping their information from our disinfecting sunlight. We will get that information to you to include the “80/20 rule,” why they don’t want you to know the ruling history of these “judges,” and what happens to the “judges” who fall under the 80/20 average. We will show you how these organizations work together to deny you, the injured worker, from fair treatment after an injury. These organizations include the City of Tucson, the risk management company they hire to be the "bad guy," and the AZ Industrial Commission. We will also lay out how a cop who was nearly killed on the job was lied to by a retired chief of police as well as an assistant chief from the Tucson Police Department. *Read "Bacterial Meningitis" on this website for a preview of what is coming.
Stay Tuned!! You do NOT want to miss this one!!!
